Saturday afternoon saw the finish of The Bloody Long Run at the Menzies centre in Hobart. Running 300km in 3 days was an incredible achievement and on top of that the boys have so far managed to raise in excess of $32000 in such uncertain times, and the funds are still coming in.
It turned out to be another very humbling day for the Gadomski family as the finish of the run was capped off with an announcement from the Director of the Menzies Institute, Distinguished Professor Alison Venn, who launched another initiative in the search for a cure; the ALEX GADOMSKI POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP IN MEDICAL RESEARCH (recruitment will begin soon). The scholarship is a partnership between Maddie’s Vision and University of Tasmania and will run alongside the Fellowship for 3 years, researching to ultimately find a cure for Bone Marrow Failure. The scholarship was made possible because of the generous and ongoing support of the Live Life Gala Ball and other smaller fundraisers throughout the last couple of years. We are so grateful of the caring Tasmanian Community wanting to help to find a cure.
